From Tempo Interactive:

A number of organizations and local leaders grouped in the Bali Community are urging the Constitutional Court to grant a judicial review of the Pornography Law. “We have been consistent since the beginning that the law conflicts with the 1945 Constitution honoring the nation’s diversity,” said the Bali Community coordinator I Gusti Ngurah Harta yesterday. “It also destroys Indonesia’s culture and tradition,” said Ngurah Harta, a traditional Calon Arang dancer.

The Bali Community Component planned to meet with Bali governor Made Mangku Pastika and the Bali Provincial House of Representatives (DPRD), to ask for their commitment and support. The Constitutional Court plans to make a decision concerning the judicial review request on Law no. 44/2008 on Anti-Pornography this March 25. The request was submitted by a number of NGOs which felt that their interest was disadvantaged by the law.
