Hello

I am new here and would like some advice. I would like to send some fabric (100% cotton) to Bali maximum about 20kg and the total value including shipping (Australia post is $2000 AUD). My manufacture informed me that i may be charged duty fee 50% of the the price of the goods and shipping? Is this correct? would it be cheaper to fly to bali and bring the fabric? or would shipping through an agent be cheaper?

Thanks

Where are you flying from? Definately sounds cheaper to fly IMHO.
I will be flying in from Australia. I just don't want to get in trouble avoiding the import tax duty by flying. Would that be legal or illegal?

Try contacting an import agent in Bali. If you bring it in your luggage there is a good chance you will need to pay duty on it. Kind of hard to say its for personal use.
