A Sticky End!

Each night a rat (or maybe more than one) came to our open bathroom and chewed at soap. Early attempts with a glue trap failed - clever rat! Then, with trimming, I could place the glue trap onto the ledge of the entry point. Bingo - last night one rat met the sticky end. Are there more? - in a few days we should know.

Anyone got any hints for dealing with rats?

In Lombok before we opened Mimpi Manis we had a problem with rats. Although we had dogs at the time they didnt seem to be bothered by them and would drink out of the dogs water dish even. Once we got the first two of our cats, the rat problem ended and we havent had one since.

I read a comment from someone from Bali Street Dogs on another forum recently that the culling of the Bali dogs is going to lead to a massive rat problem and the health problems associated with rats. I hope not but we will see.
