I mean real gold bars, I doubt that but there are many shops selling gold by the weight in Denpasar. You can resell the gold at the market price if you have the original receipt. Jl. Hasanuddin, also known as the Gold Market area, has many shops selling precious metals.
Looks pretty good to me for long term investment. Numbers don't lie. Sorry for those who were day trading gold and got destroyed by short term volatility or didn't have the patience to wait it out.
Yeah I can see that. Not everyone's dream home is everyone's dream home. I'll probably just keep it empty. Easier to sell empty land than one with a house on it around here in my opinion. I also know a few bule struggling to sell their "dream villas" right now.
Yeah, I'm not worried about selling any time soon. I didn't buy it to turn a quick profit. It will be a gift to my kids someday when I pass. But the deal was so good at the time I couldn't turn it down.
It absolutely did happen during the pandemic. I'm not trying to brag, but I scooped up some land for an extremely cheap price during the pandemic that has since doubled in value. There were a lot of people lowering prices during the pandemic to cover their personal/business costs if you looked...

- "the property is near balian beach in bali and in my friend's name"
- " i currently have my friend's cousin project managing a small renovasi "
- "i've...
Well Catholics misinterpreting the Bible is nothing new. Perhaps they identified as Christians by name only but anyone who is familiar with the Bible knows that the God of that bible would absolutely disapprove of the Spaniard's behavior in that period. If there is a Hell, they are for sure in it.
Nah, the Spanish were huge assholes who killed a bunch of people. When did I ever say they are clear of responsibility? I'm just saying the natives they conquered weren't exactly angels either. All humans are assholes throughout history. It's kind of our speciality.
Nazis, British, Soviets...
Destroying art and culture for money is a tale as old as time. We're watching it happen now in Bali. Someday, when Bali looks Singapore, people will say "what a tragedy the white man destroyed the beautiful Balinese culture for their own greedy desires."
Don't tortue yourself like that.
Cold brew guys. Bali has some decent Arabica from Kintamani. Soak it in room temp water for 14 - 18 hours and strain with a cheese cloth. The result is very strong but very smooth tasting coffee. Pour over ice for the best experience.
If you prefer hot...
Depends what you are shipping but last I heard, the import tax is 17.5% . I know plenty of people that have imported things from US and Europe to Bali. It's not a big deal. You simply submit all the required documents, pay the tax and you're good to go.
