Hi there,
Been looking for info on the dental side if things and found most to be outdated. I'm in need of some overdue dental work and have been referred to Dr. Indra Guizot at the Implant Center in JL Patimura, Denpasar. I was given this refernce by the folks at the Bali Smile Dental Clinic in Kuta.

Does anyone have any feedback as to the service of this facility / surgeon or any recommendations? I am aware of Dr. Sucipto too. I have an appointment but that is for May. I can get in to see Dr. Indra within a day or so. The work would require an Implant.

Feedback is welcomed.

Cheers,
CanonMan

hi Canon

Sucipto has partners who offer a better availability.
i just came back from doc agung today, one of those associees.

why not going for the best if you have to pay the same amount approx.
the standard is really high there and you can be sure you get a good job.

about the implantat, do some internet researches first, so you know what you can expect.
if there is only 1 teeth a problem, i would always go for the bridge-version, did some i- researches too:icon_mrgreen::icon_mrgreen:

wish you all the best
leandra

i would not go anywhere else.

Dr Indtra Guizot

Yes, my advise is do not use him or anybody in that clinic.

Sucipto is a better choice by far.

Do you have personal experience there or are you going by others opinions?

If so can you share them?

I have used Dr. Guizot before, the Bali Smile Clinic is owned by him so no wonder you were referred to his clinic . He rarely sees patients these days. All the work in his shops are done by trainee dentists. If you go in now , and return in 6 months, there will be a whole new set of trainees in there. Surprisingly all the trainee dentists are female...one gender employees here. The quality of work is fair at best . Go to the other dentist, one has a long waiting list and the other you can get in anytime...I know which one I would choose. Remember Guizot will only poke his head in for the original consultation, if you are lucky, then all work will be carried out by an apprentice.
Good Luck

Thanks for the heads up. I've been to see Dr. Indra and he was busy with a patient, then I had a consultation with him and his staff, all female as you mentioned. My next question will be whether he would be performing any work or not.

I also have an appointment for a second opinion in Singapore next week and then with Dr. Sucipto on May 3rd. Will inform the Forum so they can update any dental notes etc.

Cheers,

Motormouth is correct. We went to a dentist in Denpasar, he was great and then a friend recommened Dr Indra she had implants. All teeth out and implants and all new teeth. That was 2 years ago and she is still having problems. My husband got a crown and it broke 2 months later. We went before my friend, if I had gone after their would be no way my husband would have gone anywhere near that surgery.

I have had 6 crowns and a root canal, consultations and xrays and had my dentist check it in Aus and she said the crown was top of the range and the work as good as she has seen. It cost $2500.00. My doctor told me about Dr Indra when I went back.

The dentist recommended above is great also I know many people who use him.

Best Dentist I've Ever Been To In Over 60 Years

I'm from North Pole , Alaska and was in Indonesia in 1902. Dr Indra Guizot was recomended to me by an Indonesian friend. I went to his office about 9:30 pm on thursday night of the day I arrived. After speaking with the Dr. we came to an aggreement to have him do my upper teeth, with permanet fixtures, to include titianiam studs, root canals, and teeth. I came in the next day, friday, about 5:00 pm and my teeth were ground down and root canals done, and on saturday I came in to have temporary teeth fited. I returned on tuesday to have the permanet teeth installed. In LESS than 5 days, from meeting the Dr., my teeth were completed, at about 10% of the cost (well under $2000) it would have been here in America. In febuary 2010 I returned to Bali and gave a visit to Dr Indra in regards to a chip in my permanet tooth, from eating a jawbreaker piece of candy. The Dr. was kind enough to repair the tooth, at no cost to me, after the theeth had been in foe 8 years. That seems like a good guarantee/service to me. I can give the highest of recomendations to this very hard working Dr, to anyone. Here in Alaska when I went to a local dentist I was told there was nothing I could do to fix my teeth, and a dentist appointment may take several months advance booking. I hope to return to Bali in Febuary 2011 with a friend who also needs same type work on teeth. Thanks for the good job you did on my teeth. Victor Buberge : North Pole, Alaska

Indra Guizot

I think are more "other" person reviews here than actual fact......I have personal experience, if you call 17 implants and a full set of upper and lower - permanent appliances, more than enough for an educated comment on this dentist.

Dr Indra is an Implantologist....the fantastic girls that work for/with him are experienced dentists...there is a difference between specialists and general practioners in an any practise.

I have been through hell with my teeth AND dentists in Australia. This man is the gentlest I have ever experienced and funnily enough he knows what he is talking about and the best solution to the problem. I experienced no pain or discomfort in the procedures, nor any pain or discomfort in the months after, let alone the lack of pain in the cost!

I cannot recommend this man higher. So be very sceptical about the opinions expressed here......by "others" that have never even met Indra. He is a highly trained and respected specialist.

The "clinic" of Dr. Indra Guizot is recommendable

I was in Bali and had a very acute root issue.
Dr. Indra Guizot was recommended by our hotel.
It is not the European style of dentist, you would expect. But the infrastructure is modern (e.g. taking x-rays on computer displays, providing CDs with all x-rays) and I was handled very professionally by Kadek Suartini. Dr. Guizot himself is a salesman and I suppose, he has done no surgery in the last years. But his personnel are competent and very friendly. And even after three months, everything is fine after the root canal treatment.

Re: dental implants in Bali ??

I need some substantial dental work myself..., soon..., possibly multiple implants. I do understand multiple implants will be nothing like 'a holiday'..., even in Bali. Nonetheless I am vaguely seeking to combine the two..., plus of course seeking to pay less than in Australia.
So..., I seek any info regarding having this work undertaken cheaper....., and with great skill etc etc.
...., maybe even elsewhere in S/E Asia.
Any suggestions ??

Regards to all in advance.

My friend went to Dr David Ng in Singapore, see - SINGAPORE DENTAL IMPLANT CENTRE - singapore business directory, company listings, business listings, classified ads, classified Listing , Hotels In Singapore Malaysia , China business directory , Free Premium Listing , business information online M
He wanted an implant, but after X-rays, Dr Ng suggested his bone structure was not in good shape so implants would be risky and so recommended a partial denture instead which is much cheaper of course. To me, this seemed like very professional advice. I just wonder if an Indonesian dentist would be able to turn down the lucrative implant just because the outlook wasn't good. But maybe I am being too cynical.

Thank you that ronb..., It's the sort of information I'm seeking.
Looking to find out more of the same re: reputable dental surgeons and dental medical clinics within the the S/E Asia peninsular area.

{A friend recommended the 911 clinic...., saying you simply need to walk in and it's possible for work on your teeth to start almost straight away. I believe a discussion and xrays/photos submitted before hand would be a more 'proper' way to go about things etc etc.}

I will continue my search for more information re: more affordable dental surgery in S/E Asia.
Can any other posters or expats recommend dental practices in the above region ?:icon_e_smile:

Hi,

Is there any orthodontist as well in Bali? or they tend to mix the dentist and orthodontist in one practice? I need to use a braces for my front teeth, i lost two at the right side 5 years ago, and it has made a slightly change, they re not just in order like they were before :icon_mrgreen:

anyways, thanks in advance
