Cheers sir mick
Land prices in and around Ubud have gone totally crazy. 4 or 5 km north of Ubud and they are still asking $25,000 an are. I don't know about Amed though. A 1 acre block (40 are) would set you back $1 million Aus. (or more). :topsy_turvy:

Has been living near Ubud for a couple years now, I can confirm that the price of the land around our place has tripled in the last 4 years. My aunts place has been multiplied by 15 after almost a decade and those are just modest estimates.I am still trying to earn enough money to secure a place near Ubud up on a small hill with beautiful view, but the price keeps running wild and makes my effort futile:boxing: I I should have been a property broker since the first day stayed in Bali :biggrin:I've quoted Markit's comment on other post about how to look for lands:Make sure they understand exactly what you want and let them loose. They will come back with several suggestions - give them 2 chances to make it fit. If the land they are showing you isn't what you are looking for after 2 chances then thank them kindly and move on to the next source - with the same modus operandi.
@ ferdie "I am still trying to earn enough money to secure a place near Ubud up on a small hill with beautiful view, but the price keeps running wild and makes my effort futile I Me too ferdie, but it seems one has to go out towards Payangan or up past Sebatu to find something with a beautiful view at any sort of reasonable price. The calo2 have got most of the good land terikat, and have doubled the price (or even more) in many cases. :topsy_turvy:

Joji, I was shocked to learnt that the brokers in Bali could gang up and forced the owner to let them take control over any land sales.I had a funny experience a few years back in Nusa Dua, the owner had given a certain price that my friend agreed to, but then 2 cars full of people came, claiming they are the brokers. They walked in and changed the price because they felt they have the authority to take the excess money over the owner's asking price, its twice from the asking price :greedy_dollars:I told him that I only deal with the owner but the owner got scared and canceled everything. I told him I could get all of them arrested if they threatened him, but the poor guy was too scared because some of the guys were his neighbor in the same banjar.Crazy indeed :icon_e_wink:But now I know some locals that helped me all these years searching for lands for me or friends and relatives, they were quite satisfied with the total 5% normal brokerage fee and have been honest so far with the background and history of the land.
