Adam wroteHi Geedee,
A personal favourite of mine and my recommendation to you is to hire a driver and head up to Bedugul and then take a drive around the caldera rim above Danau Buyan and Danau Tamblingan from Desa Wanagiri to Desa Tamblingan. The views are truly spectacular, some of the best on Bali in my opinion. There are a few attractions in Bedugul such as the Botanical Gardens, Lake temple (yes, another bloody temple) and a treetop walk which may provide some entertainment for your son. If you can spare the time return via Pupuan passing thru Munduk where the vistas are equally spectacular. There is also a scattering of Hot Springs and Waterfalls in the area if that is your thing. Stopping off at an Agrowisata (agricultural tourist attraction) might also be an interesting pit stop if you are interested in learning about and tasting Balinese coffee and spices.
Don't leave your run too late as the clouds often roll in later in the day killing the view. It is also noticeably cooler up there so is a pleasant change to the heat and humidity closer to the coast. Honestly, it is well worth the visit to what is, in my opinion, the most beautiful part of Bali.
Kind regards,
Adam
Thanks Adam. Have done some before as wife just reminded me will do the rest.
Driver hired now.
