I have been resident in Batam for eleven years now, pulling the plug in 2014 and heading for Bali...again, or just possibly Banyuwangi, but will be socialising on Bali and the kids will go to school there.Anyone needs info on Batam/Bintan/Karimun ...drop me a line.

Jeeez, Bali as his own personal "party island". Hat off!

Depends on definition dunnit?Morning Markit depends on definition of 'socialising' and 'party island' ...by socialising I meant visiting me mate who has a restaurant in Sanur, antagonising Australians in Tom's International Sports Bar ...if its still going that is ....and shopping for decent cheeses...Unfortunately the word 'party' is not in everyday use on Planet Writeson since the onset of various 'party related' items impacted on my life...in fact the last 'party' I was at involved Ronald MacDonald and twenty unruly pre-teens ...the last 'party' I was at on Bali was somewhere in Legian...or was it Singaraja...yes it was one of 'those' nights...so I'm told...

Goodness me Joe, Tom moved to Java about 7 years ago. Tom's Sports Bar is long dead. You may still find some of the old desperados around the place however may of them have dispersed. (Of course you could always PM me with a few names and I will let you know which ones are still alive). Most of the "mates" who had restaurants here are also gone. Once again let me know your mate's name and I will give you his/her current status.Markit's idea of a good party is coming out of his cave, beating his chest, picking his nose and giving his rear end a scratch. He was in Sanur yesterday and arranged to meet me at the Man Shed. I told him to turn right out of Hardys. That was too complicated for him. He mumbled something about caves and trees. With that he slunk off to Hermitsville.

it is close i pass it on the way to Hardies or a few of the beaches I visit

Ok, there is a place in Sanur that is actually called the "Man Shed". It's on Jl Tirtanadi and looks pretty cool. Just discovered this a few days ago.

Awww shucks! What with a shitty phone connection and your shitty accent I thought you were going on about a Man Shag and frankly, just between the 2 of us No.idea, not my flavour old chap. I've heard that you southerners don't consider it gay if you're the "shagger" as opposed to the "shaggee" but the rest of us aren't quite that understanding - comes from not being stuck out for months in some "outback" (is there an "infront"?) with only a bouncing Roo for company and companionship.

Balibule, do you like my choice of female bar staff or do I need to improve?

There used to be an expression...'if the cars arockin' don't come knockin'!:love_heart:
