The ping is just on your machine to the 'nearest' server. I find the ping to be of no real value.
Oh right. If you say something is going to eat something else, doesn't it usually imply a bad result?
A ping result over 300ms will usually result in too long of a delay for comfortable VOIP conversations, that's why it's important to me.

Yep, that's my experience too. Takes a bit of getting used to. I'm hoping the Indihome fibre-to-the-home will cut down this ping time significantly and be reliable 24/7.
