Hi all,I've recently got my first Bali Canon printer with the external print cartridges. Accidentally let the thinner black compartment run empty so the printer stopped printing. I've now worked out that if I open the valve for the larger compartment, the ink equalizes between the two but the printer is still saying it's out of ink. Any advice for this novice on how to get it to recognize there is ink?? I tried removing both cartridges to try and reset the chips but no luck.

If you are talking about refilled cartridges, the printer will read them as empty. However, you should be able to print anyway. I have the same problem with a cheap Canon printer. Sometimes it helps if you press the 'Resume' or 'Paper out' or 'Error' button. Depending on the model printer.

On my initial setup (on an Epson TX121), if the printer said it was out of ink, I had to pop loose the cartridge that was complaining then click it back down. Then at some stage they "upgraded" my setup and now the cartridges cannot popup, but there is a button between the 2nd and 3rd cartridge that needs to be pressed down to clear the "out of ink" message.Hoope one of these approaches works OK for YOu

Thanks, will give them a try although tried similar things yesterday with no success. Does anyone know a place in Sanur that might be able to fix it or take a look. Would prefer to not take a trip to RIMO where I bought it.

I think those external tanks are aftermarket add-ons and probably fitted at Rimo....I have a Bali Canon MP287, and the add-on was offered, but I don't do too much printing and declined. My guess is you should talk to the store you bought.
