Where to buy good scooter helmet around Seminyak/ Petitenget area

Can anyone recommend where to buy a good quality helmet around the Seminyak or Petitenget area? I am not going to rent a scooter but will probably be travelling on the back of one for a few weeks whilst we look for a place to rent. Last time most agents were on scooters and I had to travel on the back without a helmet. Thought it could be a good idea to grab one for myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

tcollins, I don't know where you can buy a good helmet but can I recommend that you do. By that I mean that there are plenty of good looking ice cream buckets for your head that are available to buy cheaply but as a life long motorcyclist I would suggest to not skimp on the price of a solid expensive helmet. It could mean the difference between a two wheel motor-bike and a two-wheel chair. And that's not just in Bali but anywhere. IMHO.

Thanks for the reality check- main reason I am not considering riding myself. Any idea where I can get a good helmet over there?

M sister in law have just told me there is one in same street as bintang supermarket (the little street where you park) Also one next to skygarden. Her quality may or may not be the same as your standards . I think she thinks its for me and is offering to get her friend to bring one( i would give that a miss)

You might try and start with Deus ex Machina in Canggu. They should be able to point you in the right direction. Other than that I'll ask around here in Ubud and get back to you if I find any solid info for you.

I just bought the most expensive helmet in the shop for a paltry IDR360k. Plastic outside and padded polystyrene inside. My Oz mate has his that he brought with him and cost about the same in A$ as mine did in Rupes. Thing is OK mine isn't up to his standard but I gotta say if the accident is bad enough to trash even my cheap helmet then the diff will only be between an open coffin and closed.
