HiWe are in the process of getting Australian citizenship for our baby, but who do we notify in regards to Indonesian immigration? What visa will the baby get? Any information appreciatedMichelle

That is a good question. I would call in at immigration and ask directly. Once you get the citizenship paper, you can apply for a passport. You can apply for the passport on the same day as you pick up the citizenship paper if you have the application form signed by both parents (saves at least one trip to the consulate). If you have a KITAS then you should be able to sponsor your child for KITAS also, otherwise they would probably get whatever visa you are using, social/tourist etc. If one parent is Indonesian then you can get an Indonesian passport and don't have to worry about visas.

@freetofly...bring the birth certificate to your nearest 'Kantor Catatan Sipil', there you can ask for a surat keterangan lahir.
