Gurkha wroteMarkit - I actually asked a pathologist friend about the absence of dromedary digits in Indonesia - His said that he wasn't 100% sure but it appears that the propensity to squat, (instead of sitting with legs crossed) tends to 'push' the naughty bits back and thereby the development of tissue in the area is poor compared to other females (like the Mexicans).
This sounds like the kind of study I could really get involved with! What we first need is an NGO to allow for charity funding. Perhaps if we coached the terminology a little vaguely ala - " Searching for Indonesia's most endangered Camel species!" "Save the last Unta Jempol!" I could get rich, preserve my place in history and have a ferocious good time in the bargain?
Clearly this would also have expansion possibilities in Mexico...
