An Australian man has been reported dead in Kuta.
Trent Parker Tiviotdale was found dead in his room at Homestay Komala Indah 1 on Jl. Pies 1, according to Merdeka.
The 35-year-old allegedly died after he took sleeping pills to cap off a night of binge drinking.
Kuta Police says the Australian was first found dead by his friend, Dyah Meganingrum Mentari Putri, 32.
Putri said that they had met at a nightclub in Kuta and after some drinking, they decided to go back to the homestay.
“When they went out of the club, the witness explained that the victim was drunk, until she accompanied him to the homestay,” said Kuta Police Crime Unit head, Slamet, as quoted by Merdeka.
At that time, Slamet says Putri claims to have seen Tiviotdale swallow some sleeping pills before she went out to buy him some food. But apparently when she got back, he was fast asleep and snoring loudly—a number of the homestay’s employees also said they heard the man snoring loudly.
