Singapore Medical Exam?

Before anyone gets their hopes up I'm just as right as rain so just calm down. I would like to have any recent information that may be out there about going to Singapore for a [B]general medical checkup[/B] at a reputable medical establishment that doesn't believe in black magic (as my local here in Karangasem seems to). Contacts and/or costs would be nice too. Thanks in advance Markit

I'm not familiar with Singapore hospitals but, for annual medical check-ups, I go to Siloam Hospital on Sunset Rd. They are very efficient and, imo, just as professional as any hospital anywhere and they offer packages of check-ups ranging from about Rp1 juta to Rp 4 juta. Scroll down the link for the cost but you'll need to go to the front desk to get the brochure to find what each package consists. Thanks Davita but I think we can all agree that where my personal health is in question, the very best, is just about good enough. check Matsaleh's link and if you go to health screening https://www.mountelizabeth.com.sg/facilities-services/diagnostic-tech-services/health-screening scroll down to where it says "General" Screening and at the bottom "Presidential Scan". I'm looking for the one after that - maybe "Emperor" or possibly "Divine Leader" Scan.

According to Matsaleh's link to Mt Elizabeth hospital.....they don't have any facility for the mentally disturbed either but I'll be happy to search for an institution that can cater to your delusion that the thread/forum belongs to you. :mad: Might take a while 'coz this handicap does appear serious....and you deserve the very best....as you've already said in post #6. btw we hear you from the sticks...no need to shout....unless you've tripped over the edge and calling for some black magic that might work until better care becomes available......:icon_exclaim:

I've had my bowels and arteries re-bored and re-plumbed at Singapore National University Hospital and was quite satisfied with the result (I'm still alive ain't I?) - I think you;ll find that it is much cheaper than either Mount 'E' or Gleneagles - which are both private and have catered to the mainly well-healed expat community for decades. Not entirely sure about that... In any case, it is most definitely not a bad idea to get medically checked out from time to time by qualified and professional doctors. With all due respect, Indonesia does not inspire confidence from a healthcare perspective (Indonesians who can afford it go mainly to Singapore or Malaysia for healthcare). And, the cost of a serious medical issue in Indonesia can on the downside be death and on the upside bankruptcy and/or disability, so the choice to get examined is not so hard... Or are my priorities screwed up?

I believe you are correct that Indonesia does not, by acclimation, inspire confidence.....but that is my point. I have, for many years had medical check-ups in Thailand, Malaysia and my free-be in Canada.... and I've observed, as far as check-ups are concerned, the best and recent was in Siloam in Bali, relative to professionalism....and price. That doesn't mean I wouldn't go elsewhere for opinion, or indeed, specialisation, but my earlier post was to offer some alternative ideas. edit: Forums are designed to offer choice and information...but should not be exclusive.

We went to the Jazz Market by the Sea in Taman Bhagawan on Sunday. Siloam hospital had a booth and were offering free blood pressure checks and analysis. Out of our party of five my wife and I had the lowest blood pressures. So celebrated with another tumbler of Cape Discovery red wine as it clearly works to keep the BP down. Co-incidentally, there was an Australian chiropracter giving spine analysis and two of our group made appointments for spine adjustments. I also wanted to have a check but he said it would take a miracle to cure my hump-back and bandy legs ...:grumpy:
