I seem to remember that someone in this forum [U]lives or works at Balikpapan[/U]. We are thinking of travelling there for a few days (from Bali)...maybe up to a week, just to see what's there! Can you recommend a really great hotel ( I have been looking at the Gran Senyiur as we like older, more historic hotels but its not essential if a newer hotel is far better), cost not a big issue as it appears that most accommodation there is very reasonably priced anyway. .... and what should we NOT miss out on. We are a married couple in our 60's..reasonably fit....but we are not interested in hard core trekking. And is August a good time to go....we know it will be hot but maybe not as hot as Dec-March. Thanks in advance...
