Been to 4 "top rated" places and not 1 of them i would recommend.I used to have italian sunday family meals, dine at mulberry st in nyc and eat a rao's monthly.

I used to like Warung Italia, but think they have dropped a bit (no cold beer!), but like the place on Jl.66 across from Warung Murah (also good, but not Italian). Have never had really good pizza in Indonesia, but what the hell everyone knows it was born in New York!

[b]Ultimo Restaurant[/b]I got back to Bali about 4 months ago and went to the same Italian Restaurant in Jl. Oberoi, Ultimo. I love this place and not because I am Italian. The only open for dinner and very often you have to wait for a table. If you have a VIP card you will have 15% discount on food and drinks. Food is good, reasonable prices and very nice ambiance. Maybe not the best but i/we love it.

[b]Canggu Trattoria[/b]Sorry, forgot to mention Trattoria Canggu, Canggu Plaza. Good food and in my opinion the best pizza ever.

Massimo in Sanur we find average.

I agree with Dick about the food in Massimos. I think Sale e Pepe on Jalan Cemara and Basilico in the Sanur Beach Hotel complex are easily better than Massimos.
