Bali Police detained on Sunday the foster mother of a murdered 8-year-old girl after declaring her a suspect for child neglect in a case that has gripped the nation since the victim’s disappearance in May.
Investigators from the Denpasar Police department questioned Margaret Christine Megawe on Friday after also interrogating her two children, as well as a tenant and security guard of her boarding house. She was officially arrested early Sunday morning along with her daughter, Ivone.
Officers had reportedly found a blood-smeared tissue paper in Margaret’s room and are currently processing the evidence for any connections to the death of Angeline, Margaret’s foster daughter whose body was found buried in a shallow grave in the back yard of their home. The initial coroner’s report revealed she had died from blunt-force trauma to the head.
The 8-year-old was first reported missing on May 16, garnering nationwide social media attention and spurring search campaigns across Bali.
Police have officially named Margaret’s male housemaid, Agus, as the primary suspect in Angeline’s murder and it was his testimony on his employer’s behavior toward the victim that ultimately lead to her arrest, said Bali Police chief Insp. Gen. Ronny Sompie, as reported by Antara news.

"Margaret's male housemaid"? Was he/she a transvestite or a transgender?

This is the guy, but there still seems a lot of suspicion with the mother.

Well if the Bali police have arrested them then for sure they had nothing to do with it.
My money's on the chickens.
