Ijen is fantastic but I'd like to slowly boil the idiot on Tripadvisor that said the climb only takes 1.5 hours. It took closer to 5 and damned near killed this old bastard. Just thought I'd take 30 seconds out of my busy day doing very little, to check if Google Translate would work for Latin. It does - "The Latin is not dead yet speak it of two old men emitto". It worked, even though I am now left wondering what emitto means .... I'll have to find another 30 free seconds some time.

I think I can help you with that...Latin verb emitto conjugated in all tenses. Might take more than 30 seconds of your precious free time....so...if you cannot conjugate all those stupid latin tenses.......just think of it as letting go, let loose, expel or, as I interpreted.....farting...:indecisiveness:

In my experience it's only those that have been clubbed into agreement at a formative age that think Latin is in any way "valuable". They always come up with lists of wonderful things that nobody gives a tiny toss about that Latin has contributed to the modern languages without realizing that Latin is also reliant on even older languages for its form. I'm sure if we go back far enough there's someone very like our Davita going "ug, gu, ug" at other bored fellow caveman driving them to also wish lightening would strike him. Difference is we are resigned to it just being bad weather with no real hope of divine intervention.
