That is commonly known around Ubud as "up to you boss", but look out if said party doesn't think it is enough! Be sure to get a definite price asap or you could have problems. This is done with the assumption that you will be more generous than the going price, and it never works out that way in accordance with the person's assumptions concerning your generosity. Always get the price first!

Hello! Happy to be back in Bali. This time I am living in a villa with kitchen because I am here for six months. They only supply someone once a week to do floor cleaning and bed linen change and I wondered how much it would cost to get someone in for 2x2 hours midweek to do extra cleaning.
Also I have found a motorbike guy who's really nice but he says to pay him at the end of the week and has given me no indication how much. I will be needing him for short trips around Ubud at least 5 times a week...and you can double that for return pick up. Someone suggested I pay him 250,000 IDR a week. He also says his wife can clean...and again, tells me I must pay what I think. The same person suggested around 50,000 IDR for total four hours cleaning.
And so...any ideas if I'm on the right track?

50k a day for the cleaning lady seems ok and I agree make sure you get a price for the driver. Just tell him you've had an offer from someone else and you need to compare their prices...

Thank you Mugwump and Markit. I understand and appreciate your comments. I have already been told this before so am alert to this. I must say tho, that in this instance, it's a little different. He is a good friend of the Australian owner of the place I am staying at. He is a good man. He would accept petrol money only if that's all I had. And of course, he would take twice as much as I have offered if I had it to give. He is a lot different to most. He and I have a connection. I go to his place for dinner, his lovely wife cooks for me, his children run to hug me. And so I want to pay what is a good and fair price, not more, not less. That is why I ask how much. No one has given this this amount to me yet but I figure if a stranger offers to take me for $2 or $3 a short trip, that $25 a week is fair. Was just wanting confirmation.
And thank you Markit for confirming cleaning price!
