Planning to move the wife and 2 kids to bali and trying to unravel the visa problem. Wanting to stay 12 months then look at staying longer. My kids would be in school and my wife with them,Im guessing from reading my wife and kids would on VOA visa's and after 14 days then get and extension for 30 days. Then they will have to do a visa run? :miserable: The wife will hate that, Ill just be on VOA's with extensions but as I FIFO i should never need to do a visa run??Is it possible to get a Kitas visa straight up?? In our situation?? Willing to make a donation to make things go smoothly but what would we be looking at cost wise??

For the kids, use the search box and enter "student kitas" - you may get some ideas. For your wife, the VOA should be 30 days, exdtendable another 30. Then, via a visa run, she would move to a Social Budaya visa - put sosbud in the search box.

Thanks Ron, is it possible for my wife to sign up for, I dont know a token gesture course?? Or any type of course that would get her on a student kitas as well? It would be easier if everyone got renewed at the same time. Is it possible to get social 6 month visa's straight off the bat with a sponsor?

Is it possible to get social 6 month visa's straight off the bat with a sponsor?[/QUOTE]That might be your best shot.If you have someone to sponsor from Indonesia you could all have the Sosbud issued in your home country from the nearest Indonesian Embassy/Consulate. Agents will even do this....for a fee of course. This means the Sosbud can be in the passport when you leave your home country. You must come to Indonesia within 90 days from issue but it is valid for 60 days after arrival. Withing the last 20 days it is recommended to apply, at the nearest Imigrasi to where you live in RI, for a further 30 days extension...and repeat until approx 6 months...then leave Indonesia for S'pore/KL or home, and repeat the process.Meanwhile, you have time and opportunity to investigate something better like student visa etc.I should also add that the Sosbud is for single entry...if you leave RI it automatically becomes expired.
