An Australian man was reportedly assaulted by a group of both men and women in Ubud after an argument yesterday afternoon. The victim of the assault has been identified as jewelry designer Ash Flemming (23), a resident of both Sydney and Canggu. “I was just walking from a cafe minding my own business, when this group of what looked liked yoga students attacked me for no reason” said Flemming. An eyewitness to the altercation identified as Moon Shadow (45) said that the attack was provoked. “Those dirty lying surf hipsters are at it again, he was complaining loudly about his vegan soy latte and the lack of real milk at the cafe. Why can’t they just stay in Canggu where they belong?” said Mrs. Shadow. Tensions between Canggu’s surf hipsters and Ubud’s resident and transient yoga population have been at an all time high ever since Ubud was declared a “hipster free zone” by a leading yoga center. Things escalated between the two camps when a Canggu custom motorcycle showroom held a yoga mat burning event in response. “There won’t ever be peace until all those dirty hippies are wiped off the face of planet”, said a Canggu resident who described himself as a coffee and beard aficionado.

Bloody hell this gave me a good laugh. The Hipsters of Canngu have a feud with the Hippies of Ubud.
The witness Moon Shadow seems credible.
The Hippies won on this day.
