Many Balinese still living without electricity

The Bali office of state electrical company PLN has called upon the local government to provide help in supplying electricity to remote areas of Bali that are currently off the grid. The PLN electrical network currently extends to 85.4% of people in Bali, meaning there are still an estimated 600,000 people living without a permanent electricity supply on the island. PR Officer for PLN Bali Wayan Redika revealed that the places that are in most need are remote locations in Bangli, Klungkung and Karangasem. “Especially Karangasem, where the topography of the area means it is hard to implement a network.
