While I have not used it to procure a rental, I thought it was interesting in seeing what is available out there. Allows a potential renter to view many different areas without expending a lot of travel time and/or using commission driven agents.

I'm just a member of the forum (not Admin) but appreciate your post, and the manner you posted. However, I suggest you may wish to re-post in the classified section 'Bali Property and Real Estate" where others, looking for the sort of info you provide, will more easy find it.

Had a look through quickly and can't find anything that I would immediately call "affordable". Most of the offerings look like out-of-work hotel rooms that can't be filled any other way. How can you have an "apartment" without a kitchen?

I also noted that you don't seem to know where any of your offerings are explained with a standard disclaimer - why can't you just take the time to check what you are selling. Ask Airbnb (who send out local photographers on application) it pays dividends in satisfied customers and only takes someone to sit on a motorbike and go over to check/photograph new entries.

How do you make money then from the site? Most sites like this charge some kind of commission to the property owner, but you say you are not an agent. Or do property owners pay to get their place listed?

Respectfully, I didn't post here to discuss our business model, but to bring Bali Budget Housing to the attention of those looking for term accommodation in Bali. Although were the first to admit our site is not perfect, we've helped many people to find a place that they otherwise probably wouldn't have found and as you can see from the testimonials on our website, most users are happy with our service.

Sorry to hear you’re not liking our service. “Affordable” is a subjective term. We list the lower-end of the rental property market in Bali. “Apartment" is a label we use because it is marketed like that by the property owners themselves and our target market is not familiar with terms like “kos kosan” etc. We’ve asked owners why there’s no kitchen and the most common response is “fire hazard”. Hope this helps and in any way hope you’ll find a nice place in Bali.

We simply don’t have the resources to do this. We’re not a profitable-, venture backed website and this is not our goal either. Our goal is to make longterm affordable accommodation in Bali more accessible. If we would send out photographers to physically document accommodations we would have to charge our users and/or property owners for our services which we don’t want to do at this stage.
