Does anyone really believe that people base their holiday decision on whether or not they have to buy a $30 visa to get into Bali?
These guys seem to be so busy slapping each other on the back at the visa freedom someone ought to tell em their stupid visa freedom as of Jan 1st hasn't actually been done yet...
Wouldn't it make more sense to give free visas to those countries that you want to grow not to those that come here anyway?
But what do I know (BwdIk)?

The Government is also boasting that more than 60 cruise ships will come to Benoa this year. Does Immigration also derive US$35 for each passenger who needs a VOA....for a one-day visit?
I agree with Markit that it wouldn't affect many tourists who stay for even a few days. Four Canadians visited us last month for five days and I didn't hear any complaint about the VOA. They did get pissed-off when customs said "Too much wine!" and poured one bottle into the trash....without even advising they could pay a fee ...:icon_e_surprised:
The more realistic news about Indonesia's method of treating visitors the less likely their objective will be met. As Sugarbear inferred on another thread...statistics and lies do not make good policy. One day they will beg for tourists to return.
