Just watched President Jokowi being interviewed on CNN by Christiane Amanpour.
IMO the interview went quite well for the President but I think Ms Amanpour went a bit light on her technique...I've seen her, on other occasions, really grill her guest.
For example, she didn't dig deep on the subject of why he so recently decided to execute drug couriers. His reply was Indonesia has a big problem about foreigners bringing drugs into RI. She didn't even comment that the Bali 9, including the 2 facing execution were, in fact, [B]exporting[/B] drugs from Indonesia to Australia. The drugs were already in the country.
Maybe she was mindful that some clemency may still be availed.
It is interesting that Australia refuses to extradite a convicted murderer to Malaysia due to their death penalty law, yet, had no hesitation to report the Bali 9 prior to them boarding for Australia, knowing Indonesia executes drug couriers. Now there's a possible conspiracy worth noting...'coz it happened....and very few are commenting, including CNN.
