One of my Sunday delights is to read Nury Vittachi's column in the Jakarta post and today was no exception. He joked about...."Cher..an actress that gives me the creeps, as she does not have a single wrinkle despite being a succubus of well over 200 years of age." I'd never heard the word succubus before so googled and this is what it is...."A succubus is a female demon or supernatural entity in folklore (traced back to medieval legend) that appears in dreams and takes the form of a woman in order to seduce men, usually through sexual activity." succubus - AOL Image Search Results I read on the Bali Monger site there are many succubi haunts on Jl. Danau Poso, Sanur......anyone confirm?

Isn't there in Balinese folklore a woman who haunts dark gangs at night? Apparently she is a ghost dressed in white who rips faces off men or other body parts?

I have never had my face or other parts ripped off. However my poor old wallet has indeed met that fate a few times. I do believe that the word succubus may just happen to appear in this week's Sanur Weekly.
