Ummm,I don't get this whole "surfing" pathos as "outsider" cum "outlaw" thingy. When I was surfing back in the day off Padre Island on the Gulf coast of Mexico it was me and a bunch of buddies far from adult control smoking copious amounts of weed with the occasional welcome addition of some female idolatry trying not to fall of and drown. Now it seems to be some big statement of independence braced by a dose of mystical wonder. Me, I reckon it's still just a bunch of hormonal, pimple factories playing in the water.
