spicyayam Anyone ever used one of these before? I am looking for something just to watch some news without having the monthly subscription.
ronb Did have one nearly 8 years a go and used it quite a bit initially, then got Indovision and didn't watch the movable one much after that. Later we had another rental place that had one. The list of saellites you show include Intelsat 8 which is about 165E (we are about 115E) so this means you are pointing low in the eastern sky for that. And it lists Insat-2e which is 83E, so a fair way west of us. So you need to have a clear view for the dish, both east and west. The ones low in the sky are more susceptible to outages from heavy rain and from when the satellite and the sun are close together from your viewpoint.
spicyayam Thanks for that. The image is just something random I found. Intelsat 8 is what I would like to get just to watch some English news.
ronb Well, because it is far east it is challenging. Make sure your installer knows this is top priority.
