Is this some kind of new necrophilia fashion?:topsy_turvy:
I thought it was funny. Some people have no sense of humour. :icon_rolleyes:

My 1st thought when I saw this earlier today, was of a goat in a tutu - but was uncharacteristically restrained, given that it is probably for some religious festival or other.

I think you can find a young goat in the Kampung Jawa/Javanese Village in Denpasar, I order some from a sate kambing seller when I want to eat decent a gule kambing. But beware, since goat is quite scarce, a few dishonest people used to mixed them with other meat.

As the OP's nic is Gurkha and he is looking for a goat I wonder if I can indulge myself in a co-incidental story;I was flying on RAF Transport A/C during 'Confrontation with Indonesia' in Borneo...supplying our ground soldiers, mainly Gurkhas. The Gurkha has a 'special' man that is authorized to butcher live animals for food. They also prefer chicken and goat.We would fly over the jungle looking for a balloon above the treetops. That would become our drop-zone. The live animals were all in simple crates and had small parachutes attached.Sometimes the crates would open in the airstream...the chickens suddenly thought they were birds and, for some reason, flew closer to the Indonesian soldiers over the border than our own soldiers. I understand the Indonesians thanked us for their food as they were not well provided by their own Govt. The goats however would go screaming down from about 500 feet and smash into the jungle. The Gurkha Officer on the ground got angry and walkie-talked "Do you know we don't eat dead meat unless killed by our 'Kami with his Kukri'. Our W/O replied "Well, you saw it die.....if you're hungry....lie!"

I bought a 'leg of goat' about 3 weeks ago in Carrefour. They usually do goat-meat.

You'll go past the Police station on the left (if you've ever been to Wangaya Hospital coming from the north this is the way you were going). This is Banjar Lumintang or Kampung Jawa (depending on your choice of God). Most of the traffic will take the first right into Maruti. Go with it and immediately look on the left for KAMBING KURBAN which is beside the Badung River and bridge.Or, come north up Kartini from Pasar Badung and go past Wangaya Hospital on the left. All the traffic will turn left into Maruti.Choose your goat, the bloke will arrange what you want.

Are you saying that they have fresh butchered meat for sale?
No. it's live on the hoof. But, just like when you buy a pig at the market for a Babi Guling party in your back garden, the sellers all know blokes who can slaughter it and prepare it for cooking.

Is Hogget what my old mum used to call "mutton, dressed as lamb"? Course she was pointing at some venerable local ladies at the time...
