I will warn you, you might get a few responses to your post that you might not want to hear. The topic has come up before and I think you will find some good information in this thread: Opening a bar in Bali

vic1312...your post is not very to the point/specific... you ask some info, you could get answers from "make sure you have enough parkingspace" to "licensing"

The thread is two years so I am guestimating prices have risen 10-15% from what no.idea quoted in that thread. Maybe more for some things (property) and less for others, but they should serve as a good guide of how much you need to make just to cover your costs.I think the first decision you need to make is where you want to be based and what kind of market you want to attract. Once you have decided this, then you can start looking at places for rent. Even though you are renting a place, I would suggest reading all of threads related to property as many things will apply also to renting a premises for your bar, ie IMB, rental agreement etc. Then you would need licences if the place doesn't have them already, renovate the building, buy fixtures like fridges, tables chairs etc. Employ and train your staff and then have a big opening party where you invite everyone on the forum for free food and beer and say a silent prayer that it isn't the busiest night you ever have!

I'd suggest you also read the various threads about working in Bali (visas etc) - it's harder than you'd think.Quick question: Have you ever run a bar, in Oz or anywhere else? Or is it a case of "I drink therefore I can"
