It seems that many people have different experiences in visa renewals at different places so here are mine in simple terms.
2013 Arrived on VOA for 30 days. Used local agent to extend once at about 750K. Used same agent to extend AGAIN at 1.5 juta for total 3 months.
2014 Arrived on Social Budaya Visa arranged by email by same agent for 600K (paid when arrived in Indo) plus Indo Embassy Fee (in Oz) about 600K. Extended 3 times at 750K a month (didn't need the 4th). No fingerprints. No need to visit Immigrasi. Agent keeps my passport in the safe and automatically renews it if I forget to call in. At under $3 a day I can live with it. If I had a family then it would be another story I'm sure. Good luck to all!
