My Family and I are looking for a rental in the Lovina area for November through the end of March. We've looked on air B&B, Homeaway, tripadvisor, etc, but so far everything seems geared towards luxury holidays, short term. Anyone have any ideas for where to find something more affordable? We are two adults, two small children, from Canada. Thanks!

I would suggest booking a hotel for a week or so and begin your search when you get here. Just tell some people that you are looking for a house to rent and I am sure you will get plenty of offers. My wife could probably show you a couple of properties also. What is your approximate budget?

Thanks, Spicy! We had considered doing something like this, though if something comes up beforehand... We are hoping to spend around $1000 USD a month. Is your wife a realtor? Does she have a web site?

She was, but planning a new career now. $1000 a month is a good budget and you should be able to find something nice with a pool. It's a catch-22 situation because no one is going to rent a place to you unless you put up the cash, and it is not a good idea to rent anything until you see it in person, just to be sure. 1-2 weeks in a hotel, should be enough time to find something. November is typically not busy so you should be able to find something for a reasonable price.
