We love the Ogah-ogah celebrations, saw it last year in Ubud. This year we will be in the south and are wondering if there is a 'best place' to enjoy it. We could go to Kuta or Denpasar or really anywhere. Any ideas?

Gianyar was good last year when we were there - after the big show we left and went toward Candi Dasa. That was were the real fun was traveling back took 3 hours as every village along the way was also having their own Ogah Ogah.

Legian tends to be good - get yourself to Legian St, between Jl. Padma and Jl. Double Six. The parade is supposed to start at about 8pm, but last year it was closer to 9.30pm. Legian Street itself will be closed, of course - as will all the cross streets. Get a good spot, and it's a great spectacle.Though I pity the people arriving in the area around 8pm and trying to get to a beach-side hotel. Last year there were lots of weary, lost, irritated people who had to hoof it from Nakula near the river when their taxis refused to go any further, and walk to their hotels with all their bags. No-one had told them that the night before Nyepi ain't that quiet ...

It's Ogoh-Ogoh, not Ogah-Ogah. Don't you people ever look up things on Google ?
