Sanur is quite busy at the moment so try and book one night. If not then may be best to drop your stuff at a restaurant, have a cold drink, leave gear there and go walkabout to find a room. If you don't mind cheap and cheerful then there will be rooms around Semawang (south end of Sanur strip) at Watering Hole 2, Abian Kokoro, Semawang Hotel, Touring Homestay, Bali Senia, or a bit more upmarket at Taksu (on the corner) at around 750K a night.

Hi all. We are a couple on our 5th trip to Bali. This trip we are seriously researching moving here permanently. Not disclosing our age but we are old enough to work through the retirement visa process. I say you are only as old as you act. Mostly Mrs ramjet says "act your age". Travelling with another couple who we get on with very well. Researching Kitas and Kitap, property ownership, health insurance, living costs, practical things like how to keep your life interesting and active. We have met an Aussie couple in Jimbaran who lease 2 villas, live in one and rent the other to people like us. Lots of great info from them. We are spending a week in Sanur starting Tuesday so if anyone is bored and wants to catch up to bless us with their knowledge we would love to meet you. Post a reply here or you can personal message us. We have an Indonesian mobile number. After reading some posts from Smoke and JabberWokker we thought you could be interesting - especially if there is a bikini party. Just as happy to catch up for a couple of wines with nice people and get no info. We are sort of on holidays after all. We have a week with no accommodation booked yet. Told a local driver we were staying at his place. His friendly smile vanished as he thought I was serious.The friendly smile soon came back but he hasn' t asked where we are staying since then. Will try to make 20 posts so I can get exclusive access to the members only forum. Tried the Nederlands one but it is all a foreign language to me. Thanks kiteman. We already have a villa booked in Sanur for the week. 2 bedroom villa with pool (2 couples). It is like living with 2 wives. Not sure how the arabs cope with a harem. I think that 2 wives is enough to keep you in check. It is the week after that we haven't booked. Always looking for cheerful people and places. We do not have a plan for the following week so could be anywhere in Bali.

Dear Management, If you aren't getting commission from Bintang for every time "beer" or the name "Bintang" is mentioned on the forum can I suggest that you approach that illustrious company with that project in mind? As provisional owner of the idea I want only %50 which I'm happy to donate to the next forum meeting as long as I get invited too.

Markit put on you glassesmay help a bit or alot go with the later lol I posted 2 links in an above post 1 keyword was coldest beer in Bali other was a friends interest in a place. Coldest beer in Bali I have had is at my local JWB on Jimbaran beach. I will say though I prefer next door now, White Sands. Not as cold but better pizza, do Indian and other good foods. Owner is nice guy. Maybe you sanurians should venture out from your shaded life and see the sunset here.

Sunset is beautiful there .I enjoy it at a few spots regularly
