I would ask No.Idea where he gets his done. I am pretty sure he will have all the information you need on this subject.

I dye my hair every 3 weeks about.I would think it depends on the hair growth of each person. never had eyebrows done or any other parts.
I would think most salons can do a good job. chose a place that uses a good brand of colorant or test different brands out over a period of time.

Yes I am mid life talking about e-cigs etc and now a different topic.
Since I was about 14 I started to go grey and never dyed my hair, a family thing of being cursed with white hair in very early years. I could get in night clubs at 15 no problem and my friends would get rejected. Now being in my mid life, for the first time I am actually thinking of getting it changed from complete white to something more appropriate. Times change. When you get older the silver fox gets changed to being just old lol
Both my brothers dye their hair and all my friends, in fact I don’t think I know anyone that does not. Do you? Probably yes if over 40.
My question is does someone know a good professional place, which I can see on a regular basis, to do a professional colour change? Bear in mind I am completely white and eyebrows etc, so not so simple.
Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Kuta area is better. Seminyak etc a little further for me. However if it’s good it’s worth it. I’ve never done it before so don’t have a clue on how often you need to go etc. Someone that ‘has a friend’ doing it ;) maybe can explain.
Thanks.

Ok, no.idea has about as much hair as a Durian (and smells very similar) so the only dying he ever does is brain cell by brain cell.
I would just add that one of the benefits of living in Indonesia, or for that matter all of Asia, is that the people here respect age and look up to those that have achieved it.
Your hair will always look dyed, particularly if your eyebrows are involved, and frankly that just looks silly IMHO. Wear you age and experience as a badge of honour and stop trying to conform to the western ideal of "young is better".
"Mutton dressed as lamb" is still mutton.
Have a nice day

...and here's me thinking this was just an aging Lothario Asian thang ... as in on their ID.
Hair Colour : Black, Jet Black, always has been and always will be!

One of the old Friday afternoon crowd at the Sir Stam bar in the Ambhara, Jakarta rolled in one day with the full monty, hair, eyebrows, 'tache all dyed orange... he thought it took twenty years off his age, whereas we merely thought it confirmed what we had all suspected for quite some time...that he was an utter twat!
He also insisted that he had had his nether regions both trimmed and colour coded to match his bonce and that his tackle no longer looked like Billy Connolly ... we declined his offer of proof... but it did raise the question... logistics?

I absolutely agree with Markit. My hair changed early in life. I colored it for years....then realized it was just stupid as hair grows and I was putting chemicals on it. I left it alone, my hair is a shimmering silver/white. I've had men who I respected and loved tell me how great my hair looks. Think about the chemicals on your hair...it will thin out over years. Leave it. I bet you look very handsome just how it is.

Some people do indeed 'Wear it well' George Clooney springs instantly to mind, and that bloke that won American Idol a few years ago Taylor Hicks, he looked good... others of course choose the 'now you see it now you don't approach' and look vain and usually foolish... Paul McCartney's attempt at a hazel brown boyish quiff looked pathetic and Ted Danson 'Irish' looked like a tarantula sitting on his head.
Bottom line ... if you are lucky enough to survive to old age ... try to do it gracefully...

Don't do it, you will look the fool..and only fooling yourself.
I have grey now, only started few years ago rally, but so what.....I have a goaty that I started when I turned 50 last year....now the long bit under the chin is grey, the moustache bit is black....looks cool, colour coded.
Old friend now has complete sean connery look, silver grey...looks great.
Thing is, many that go silvery grey, don't go bald...if you've noticed...so embrace it and don't fool yourself into thinking nobody else will notice, they all will and laugh on the inside.
Then as mentioned, think of the life long chemicals...then think about the roots growing through quite quickly and you need a touch up every couple weeks.....more trouble than its worth.

Do what makes you feel good about yourself Jabber. If it's your hair colour for now, you'll probably move through that stage, but give it a quality shot and see what you and your closest think. Maybe get highlights or balayage, so the growing out is more gradual. If it's staying grey/white, getting a slick cut and/or going the goatee or ponytail route to give yourself an image of "I'm older now but still cool", do that.
Most of these stay-all-natural advice givers probably look 10-15 years older than they need to, and it is ideal if one can be comfortable and content with that. Some people like to discretely fight back the tide for a bit longer, either because of vanity or just pride in their appearance, and that's all fine too.

An another note, I heard about a girl a long time ago, that got dyed green down under and had a tattoo above with text and a arrow. The text read “don’t mow the lawn”. Wonder what she thinks of it now about 25 years later.
.
In this new Era of Womans maintenance I am sure she would of already received the advice that the lawn should be mown.

When I was still employed, single and around 50ish, my hair was turning grey...and not in a good way! Mine was 'working class' grey that just looked old and hardly contained silver!
So I used a male shampoo that colours the hair if left on for a few minutes...it worked.
I married, retired a couple of years later, and immigrated to Canada. That's when I gave up on vanity and left my hair alone. It grew long and became more white than grey.
When some of our former colleagues came to visit the first comment was usually "What have you done to your hair?" I responded that I'd done nothing."Bullshit!'"or sometimes better/worse expletives were what I heard.... so I used a standard response "You should ask...what did you previously do to your hair":abnormal:
The moral to my story is...leave well alone and as others have said...accept age gracefully; adopt a nicer personality than greater vanity or looks. Please see my avatar!
btw. Has anyone seen the Kardashian show and looked at husband Bruce. He has had cosmetic surgery and now looks like a freak!:lemo:

Yes it seems very common among Asian men to be jet black all their life.

Thanks for the input everyone, you are right, be graceful. I we all at times think about it and some go the whole hog. My wife says, don’t be stupid… she’s probably right. Maybe a wig for special occasions then lol.

Western yes, however Asian girls, don't seem that way as much. Just guessing after web research, I promise.
Therefore, maybe some expats up to date on this interesting subject can enlighten us on the current fashion trend in Bali?
Smoke
you have to grade this accordingly .. asian ladies have much less playing field hair to start with then western women. also mush finer hair
JabberWokker
Yes the Silk Road, no wonder we fought over it
