Most landlords are going to care about your visa status, so I don't think it matters want visa you are on to rent a place. As to renting out your spare room, that is a bit of a 'grey' area. There was a post here recently about the government cracking down on
illegal operators of Airbnb properties in Bali, but there has been no confirmation of this happening. I think like Thailand, no one cares to much about what you do here, until you upset the wrong person.
