thanks bert, although i have already contacted bali ide just last week, and the email i recieved back really wasnt too informative.
Basically they said i need a sponser just to get the 60 day tourist visa, but here in aus we dont. This is why im confused still. also just said Please consider and if only possible kindly visit our office upon arrival in Bali for details information.
do u think it will be fine to do this, once i arrive in bali on my 60 day visa go to bali ide and speak in person and sort it out? Or would it be better to try and orgainise things now?
thanks again
Kas

If you stay only for 4 months, you probably will get along with one trip up and down, best probably to OZ...
If you would be able to get a social visa before you arrive in Bali (need sponsor for that), you could stay for 4 (actually 6) months at a time.
Isn't there someone you know in Bali??
Kassie
Haha yes there is somone i know in bali that could sponsor me, but does he have to have a bank accont and proof of funds or just me?
i am travelling with a friend also, so she needs one too.. but we dont want to go to trouble of a social visa, becasue after singapore we plan to go to KL and thailand for a couple of weeks then back to bali just for the further 60 days then home.

Ask him, Do you need me or a bankaccount ;)
So you plans are settled, you don't need a Social Visa, you can do with a tourist visa...
Whats the problem
Kassie
Hey
Just wondering if someone could help me please. im off to bali for 4 months in september, coming on a 60 day tourist visa, then wish to fly to singapore to renew the visa for a further 60days. I have looked up the indonesian embassy in singapore and read the requirements however im a little confused with this bit.
2. Letter of recommendation from the sponsor in the country of origin or the sponsor in Indonesia
i do not have a sponser, so what kind of letter do i need to supply? When i apply in australia (brisbane) all i need for that part is to write how long ill be staying there and where. confused :?
Also is there a quicker way then waiting for the 3 days of processing? i have heard it can be done in one day?
any info would be really helpfull thanks.
Kas :)

Hi Kassie
Neither you nor your Balinese friend need to show bank statements for a Social Visa. All you need is a "Sponsor Letter" - a simple letter from an Indonesian stating you are a close friend (for example) and they are willing to go guarantor while you're in the country. If you get such a letter, plus a photocopy of your friend's KTP (local identity card), you can get a 6 month Social Visa in Singapore in a few hours (IF you use an agent).
We all know who the agent is - he's actually reliable, punctual and not a rip-off. If you need more info, either do a search on this forum or feel free to e-mail me directly.

Kassie go thru Bali IDE. It costs money (very little) but they are good and you dont have to worry about a thing. I got this advice to go through them from this forum and I did and I have not had a problem.

It's great to hear that the advice on this forum regarding Bali Ide has "paid off" for some forum members. I admit that I get a little "twitch" when I read posts, "oh, I can do it myself and have for years."
Ya, right. Those days are long gone. In Ubud, I don't know one serious expat that doesn't employ Bali Ide for visa isssues.
Kassie
Thanks for the replys everyone, i have contacted bali ide via email and will be using an agent to get teh visa, again thanks all for the help muchly appreciated makes things a little easier!
