Anybody else like to play poker? Nothing serious, just for fun.1) I aint any good. (got a face grandmothers laugh at)2) I aint got any money (stict limit on money played, no exceptions)3) Would like to play occasionally (imagine a revolving venue, my house, your house, his/her house, etc.)4) Drink lots (don't carry it very well but enjoy it nevertheless - also probable reason for 1. above)5) No colostomy bags - they bubble loud and smell!

Had only one reply so far but I'm sure that there are more bored, poor expats (Pria, Wanita) that fancy playing poker of some sort? If not then I guess it'll be Canasta.

Well Markit, I had the same idea, some months ago :-( looks like you can't find 4 people who can meet the same day, time...I would love to play poker (didn't play for almost 20 years) but I wouldn't drive to east bali for it, here we go...

Annam

sakumabali
well that all sounds not too bad, I have a friend who really likes playing texas hold'em (never played with him yet) I think he will arrive in the next days...I would come too but where in Kerobokan? Arena?
Annam
well, if u need a player, I'll give it a try and Arena is fine!
Annam
not so sure that I am any good at Texas holdem, so I may just ruin it for all! I can give it a try though. :-))
sakumabali
Annam I'm sure I'm the worst of all of you, never won in the past and why this should change now :-))? So I guess there's a system you can't lose more than 300.000 Rupiah or so; some guys can explain it
Markit
Typical! I started this and will miss the first game :O(Am in the coldest, rainiest, most expensive refrigerator called a country (UK) till mid December. Afterwards - deal me in.
Annam
glad you addressed the betting side 'cos I was a bit worried. 300,000 sounds a good figure! I guess you mean in total not per 'hand'! ;-O

In my experience people start out enjoying the game, the people, the event and the venue. They then drink a little bit. Play a little bit. Start to lose a little bit. Then decide that they could play longer (win it all back) if they raised the limit. The result is:A game turns into work. The loser carries on losing. No fun is had by anyone except the winner. In my honest opinion 300,000 sounds like a great start cause it really don't matter how much you lose it's the losing that matters. Sry I'm drinking Bells against the fucking cold and I get a bit Stupid then too.

Not sure if gambling on the corner next to the cops is the best idea, I live in banjar semer and would be happy to have some people round for poker and drinks,Only have 4 seas at my dining table tho, Ill be away for 2 weeks but could sort something out after that,Or what about the back of the plumbers arms?
Annam
agreed Markit : hope you get out of that freeeeeezing weather soon : good excuse for the medicinal Bells!Matf : you are right, but maybe the money won't be in 'plain sight' - just note the wins and losses on paper, or has anyone got some monopoly money?:uncomfortableness:Plumbers arms sounds good although it gets a bit humid/hot in that back room. Someones place ....... sounds good ................

every other day in the sportsbar (lovina) poker is being played..starts around 15.00 till 18.00-18.30...just a friendly game, blinds 10k so per hand it can go quite up a bit.
Rangi
I say the sooner the better we get this thing going.
