Rather than having one long thread for posting events, concerts etc, I thought maybe having it in a separate section might be a good idea? What do you think?
Markit
The nice thing about a long thread is that readers can refer back to last year for those yearly events without having to ask again and again. And also if you subscribe to the thread you recieve automatic updates/notification of anything new - can you do that with a "Section"?

A list of events and dates would be helpful and making it a separate section like 'Forum' would be very helpful for non-techo people like me. If it is possible, a link to a map to find the location would be of vast value, as I have spent many hours hunting for an address based on it's 'postal' address and no map. The locals know the problem, as I am usually asked to draw a map if anything is to be delivered to my house.I would really welcome news of any event with live Classical Music. That is almost the only thing I really miss here in Bali.Good luck with the idea!Barekarma

Let me get this straight Barekarma: you want a list of classical music dates and you would also like a map on how to get there? Maybe I can come around and pick you up? I'll bring an ice chest with some cold ones shall I? What does the does the missus drink?

Hi Markit,My post was meant for 'Admin' and their request for feed back. But it is a great offer from you! (But somehow I don't think you mean it).Yet there is point to my request. Last year I heard that a few ex-pats were organising a simple musical event (piano, violin, flute) to raise money for charity. I tried to find the villa from the address given to me, but I could not find it after 2 hours. So I gave up. I missed the enjoyment of hearing a performance and the charity lost out from people not being able to find the place. It was such a shame. The nearest I get to hearing live classical music is in KL or Singapore, yet I know there are shops in Bali selling pianos, guitars, etc. So there does appear to be a market in Bali for music other than Gamalan. Of course, Markit, if your offer is genuine, I'll compromise and I will bring the ice chest with some cold beers! Barekarma

Ha, ha ok if I hear of any Classical Music I will let you know - equally please share your sources with the rest of us too. Directions and finding your way around on Bali is, to say the least, a challenge for us all. I really don't know a solution other than go about 2 or 3 hours early and have a lovely time finding the place you are searching for - stop for a meal in the general area, ask the locals, drink some beer (tuak or arrack) with them, double back, go up blind alleys, dirt roads, river beds, ask some more locals, drink another beer (tuak or arrack), see a really good ceremony you want to take some pictures of, have another beer - go home happy. So what if you don't find what you were originally looking for - you found Bali and that's what you've been searching for your whole life.

Admin... Ignore the chatter (I'm sure you do anyway). The section idea is good.... though there are plug-ins, depending on the system used, which works like a calendar/diary.Maybe one of the more IT savvy balipodders could help source/set up/plug it in
