Am thinking of putting in a pool , any advice much appreciated

:friendly_wink:....'putting in a pool'...now there's a novel idea.
I've heard of crazy golf and water ballet and even expensive night-surfing at karamas beach but 'putting in a pool' really has me intrigued.
Does one need a scuba outfit and a PADI licence... or will a snorkel be OK?
Perhaps we can get Tiger Woods to endorse....oh wait!...he aint doing so well...maybe Rory McIlroy would promote this new sport better.
and why stop at 'putting'...maybe we can have 'driving in a pool' or 'fitting in a pool' for additional income!:hopelessness:

Thank you Mark, I can always rely on you! I wanted to know whether there are specialist pool builders or does the builder normally install the pool. Also I know you can't recommend someone but as is my experience with previous pool installations, there can be lots of issues with leaking and cracks ( my late father was a builder) so any recommendations within a personal message would be appreciated.

Building a pool in the tropics isn't quite the science that it is in northern climes because you don't need to worry about freezing and contraction here.
I've built two in the last four years that still work and don't leak (I think) - this doesn't make me a specialist in any way but my guy that built them is and has constructed a number of them around Bali. He still works for me and since I think you are considering building here in the east Sally you might want to come by and see them and chat with him/me?
If that's not an option then give us some more detailed questions to work with - how big, deep, what kind of soil, how much should it cost,etc?

Ahem, I'm told that pool construction prices fall and build quality increases dramatically with the application of some rotten cow's(water buffalo, goat, sheep) milk :icon_mrgreen:

I am with Davita, I reckon this pool putting is a winner. I currently have 8 pools. If we can get one more we can have 9 hole progressive putting comps.
Sally, it should cost you around the $10,000 to have a pool installed. Amongst all the rubbish being written I do actually have 8 pools at this stage of time.

Oh by the way Sally no.idea has 8, count them 1,2,3....8 pools at this stage of time. If you act quickly you can probably get him to build you one for free - he might not even notice the cost he's so busy making pools.
One more or less won't even matter to him.

There are at least 2 specialist pool builders on the by pass between Kuta and Sanur (closer to Sanur). I can't imagine hiring a builder to build a pool or a pool builder to build a house!! Many years ago I had a Kiwi friend who was house-sitting while the home-owners were away. He had a party with quite a lot of people. They were all in the pool together and it [I][/I][B]cracked[/B] ! Who would have imagined that this could happen but the increase in water pressure caused by the higher water level apparently was enough to cause it. No doubt these days that couldn't happen......
