Last night the mains water in Nyuhtebel area (close to CandiDasa) stopped, this morning we still don't have mains water. Even the little stream that runs by my front door is dry, anyone else on here from the same area, and having the same problem?who on earth do we contact to ask about this?? Hot and sweaty :C lol

Last month, the town water (PDAM) was "off" for 2 weeks here in Kerobokan. My neighbours advised that there was not enough water for the whole island, so PDAM were rationing. I don't know if this is true, probably more likely some piping problems.Luckily, we also have a well, although the water level, even in the well, seems to be very low. The water is coming through full of sand! It's clogging up the shower heads and the filters in the taps.

Matsaleh a personal question - how deep is your well?

I have no idea, Markit. It was already here when we took over the lease.

FYI my street in Nyuhtebel had no mains water for 2 1/2 days, and even though we had made provisions by already having a large water butt in the house roof, we had managed to drain this empty on the first evening without realising that it was not refilling! We managed by having strip showers using the fresh water from the drinking gallon in a small bucket for two days, it makes you realise how often you turn on the tap when you can't access water any more! So, time for a second water butt in the garage roof, me thinks!

Won't a second barrel just mean it takes twice as long before you realize you're cut off from the mains water?
