As indicated by Rangi, his last picture is of the Royal Cremation of the Raja of Gianyar, which took place in August, 1961. His name was Ide Anak Agung Ngurah Agung,, and he ruled from 1913 until 1943 (in 1943, Anak Agung was arrested, accused of subversion against the Japanese military government and exiled to Lombok), and from 1945 until 1960. His son, Ide Anak Agung Gde Agung took over briefly, during 1943 – 1945, and a second time, from 1960 until his death 1999. His own son, Anak Agung Gde Agung succeeded him and is the present Raja. (The rulers do so under the title of Anak Agung).
The present picture was taken in Puri Gianyar on August 23, 1992, at the Royal cremation of the mother of I A.A. Gde Agung, who had died in 1962, of his step mother, and of his wife who passed away in 1991. Their bodies had been cremated quickly after death in much smaller ceremonies. The present picture shows I A.A. Gde Agung together with his son, who became the present Raja.
