Rangi Puseh temple is one of the oldest temples in Bali which was built in 944 Çaka or 1022 AD. Batunyan Puseh temple is located in the Central Hamlet, Batuan Village, District Sukawati, Gianyar Regency is located west of the town of Gianyar with a distance of about 13 kilometers.
Markit Can anyone help me out with the pronunciation on that temple name...? I've always thought they should build a temple of that name but I'd spell it little different.
matsaleh Funny, Markit. :icon_rolleyes: Balinese pronounce Puseh as something like POO-SER (with a silent R)
davita matsaleh wroteFunny, Markit. :icon_rolleyes: Balinese pronounce Puseh as something like POO-SER (with a silent R) Myself anf Markit have no problem with pronouncement in English...we pronounce the resort island of Phuket with an F (as in Fuket)....just as we correctly pronounce the Philippines (as in Filipines)....and haphazard as hafazard... If the temple is spelled Puseh then logically it is pronounced pussy. In Sanscript it probably sounds different...but we Expats don't generally understand those ancient languages as they are not very useful when ordering a beer in a pub...:cupcake:
