Hi All,I did a search in the forums but couldn't find an answer specific to this question. I'm fairly familiar with the roadside places to buy basic plants and small trees. I'm trying to find a place that sells semi mature or mature trees. We're opening a business with a large courtyard area which is very sunny. I'd like to find some highly leafy, broad, and beautiful trees to plant and put cafe' tables and such beneath. I appreciate any and all responses on where to buy and/or what types of trees would be a good selection.

Go to the places where you see small trees and ask about big trees. They will know where to get them. From time to time, you see small trucks carrying huge trees to some place or other. So there is a market dealing in mature trees.

not knowing the location of where these tree's should come, but have you thought about the transport issue...ofcourse big is relative, so what size (high and width) are you looking for?Finding tree's should not be so hard..travelling through bedugul and if you see a tree you like ask the person who owns it if he would like to sell it. Then hire a truck and crew to dig it out in a way so it doesn't die.a few trees come to mind : a "nangka" tree grows wide/high and is leafy..a "flamboyant" is another option..

I have been to a nursery near Sing-sing waterfall near Lovina that seems to have a wide range of mature and semi-mature trees. I saw some big trucks when I was there so I would expect they sell all over Bali. If you can't find any other place, I could try to get their number. They have some fruit trees also guava, durian, avacado. Bedugul should have places as Gilbert says, but I think you need to be careful as the climate is much cooler there and rainfall is high.

I would go around the villages by motorbike and look for trees I like, stop, discuss, negotiate, pay a DP....come back with some guys and a rented truck, pay, take the tree(s) and bring them to your place. Much much cheaper! Kerobokan & Sanur, imagine their expenses & rents they're paying
