And if you can't find the answer there...
It is possible to use a laptop with a mobile phone and Internet, even with a pre-paid card. Make sure that your moblie phone is not sim locked, and buy a pre-paid card from an Indonesian provider that supports GPRS.
Both Satelindo and Telkomsel have those, I prefer Telkomsel
Also make sure you know how to connect your mobile phone to your laptop, using GPRS..

Hello,
We will be for almost 4 weeks in Bali in July 2005.
We are travelling around Bali on our bicycles, so we are not staying in the same place, and most of the time we are staying in the area round Ubud, Sideman, Candidasa, Tirtaganga, Amed etcetera.
We have our own company so we MUST check our e-mail every day or possible more times a day.
Therefore, we have with us a little notebook and 2 mobile phones.
We are from Holland, so to phone to Holland and than log in on the Internet will be very expensive.
We will have our mobile phone so clients can reach us on our own number. For calling clients in Holland and Europe we will buy a telephonecard from Indonesia.
Does anyone know which phonecard we can use and has the best connection and the lowest price?
Does anyone know if we can get on the Internet with the mobile phone with Indonesian card?
Thanks for your help,
Ingrid

hm yes. it took me quite some time before i found out that you have to write *99***1# as the phonenumber for your isp when you configure the connection using gprs. Apparently *99***1# is the "code" for gprs so your computer, pda or pocket pc "knows" where it should connect through.
