BKT
I haven't quite got my head around 'link building' - BKT do you have any good resources for dummies?[/QUOTE]Sorry mate I don't, Spicy's link should help though. Haven't done any link building for a while so my tactics are probably a little out of date. The last link building effort which wasn't much effort at all got my wife website to page 1 and 2 for all her keywords. With the amount of enquiries she was getting there really wasn't much point in trying to rank it higher.

Hi i am looking for a partner for setting an e-commerce business based in Bali and shipping directly from China.Ideally you should have online marketing skills. As I am familiar mainly the sourcing, purchasing and logistics from China.Interested?

Hi Roswen, Re richie rich's orginal message, do you know whats involved in getting a business visa? where would I get info on that and what it allows me to do etc. I am also looking at doing 2 business's in Bali -one on line and one more "consultancy based", where I would need to be in Bali more often-completely different though. If i have an Australian company I dont need to register an Indonesian company if its just an on line business do i?I am also hoping to build something to live in too. All thoughts are keenly invited.

Hi all, I know this is an old thread but I've been going through all the "on line business" threads on here and this is the closest to what I'm after. I just wondered how the people who have been on here Balimish, REM Richierich etc have got on? I wondered what's involved in doing a simple (low budget) online business,(pT?) which I'd "run" from Aus, employ maybe to Balinese to do the ground work, and selling to tourists via Paypal....

I can say it is much more difficult these days to get a site ranking well than it used to be.
Dunaden
Thanks spicy. Where are the pandas? :-) so if I get a website done in aus for example, with PayPal can I just pay the Balinese by cash transfer etc. and make sales through PayPal? No documents filled out? Or maybe fill them out if business is going well...register it then? Or maybe big men will ge waiting for me at the airport the next time I visited?? :/ I just don't want to pay $4000 US say , to set up a PMA for a small online ebusiness...

If you are doing the actual business in australia and only buying goods from indonesia then do you really need a local company? I would have thought you only need a PMA if you are selling goods to indonesians in indonesia

The " paper trail" would be minimal, but the staff could dob me in? I've always been one for doing things the "right way" but paying $4000 to set up a PMA etc for a poxy small business seems a bit rich....:/
ferdie
dunaden, instead of employing someone, why don't you treat the balinese guys as sourcing agents and pay them as a service entity outside your own.you don't have to be register in Indonesia if you don't have employees right? so it will saves you a lot of headache and legal fees
Dunaden
Thanks Ferdie!! That appears to be great advice! So basically treat the local people I pay as professional "consultants"? I just wonder if they can call the "cops" and say 'this guy is paying us to do something whilst he makes money from Australia' ....I will have to look into this somehow....but thank you very much :-)

I think your Balinese "consultants" would be more inclined to protect you, their source of income, rather than biting the hand that feeds them. That said, you would have to keep your promises to them, and keep them on your side, rather than trying to maximize profits by bypassing them and going straight to the manufacturers as often happens. So the final success or failure is in your hands.:topsy_turvy:

Plan on being in Ubud late September. Look forward to having a beer with you and the other balipod ppl at the next get-together. God willing, and the creek don't rise. :topsy_turvy:
