Hi all,
Please can anyone tell me what the "Official" price is for a motorbike licence. I am currently in Yogyakarta and have made some enquiries with the local police, but as yet have not been given a "firm" price.
When I was last in Bali I paid 300k for a licence that could only be used in Bali and only lasted one month. I would like to get a licence that will last me a year and cover the whole of Indonesia. Is this possible ?
Cheers
Sam

As far as I know, you can only obtian a Indonesian License (besides the tourist license) if you have a KITAS. This is valid for a year.

I made an enquiry a while back about this. As far as i can remember You may purchase an Indonesian license (provided you have your original license) for a length of time depending on your visa.
i.e. With a KITAS its Rp3 or 400.000 for 12 months
if you have a business visa you must replace the license every time you extend the visa i.e. each month but it still costs 3 or 400.000 each time.
better to get international one if you don't have a KITAS i think
Hope this helps

This is an old topic. Anyway, you can get a motorbike license at the poldabes (they changed this from samsat). With a KITAS you can get 1 for a year. However with a business visa you can get 1 for 300.000 IDR which is valid for 3 months and valid in whole indonesia (This has changed, before you could only get 1 for 1 month, only bali and the price was 150.000 IDR)
You do not need a driving license from your own country.

same goes for tourists and sosial/budaya visa-holders.... 3 months.
