The "good news"? You must be kidding, no? The gross income is and will continue to go down,BECAUSE that wild construction eats up more and more of the cultivable land, eventually destroying the Balinese culture which is based on agriculture.

There is NO good news about the rapid development of more and more structures here on Bali. There are already way too many hotels and villas here, soon there will not be any rice fields that attracted many tourists to the tranquil sights of "Paradise". And no rice for the Balinese, I think the Balinese culture will survive but the well being of the Balinese people will continue even more of a decline than they have already experienced. The unbridled development will profit the non Balinese in the short term but will bankrupt the Balinese in the long term.
