Probably for most of you the question will sound stupid. But we are seriously thinking on that...We have a serious humidity problem in our house, and because we dont feel really hot or warm inside, we dont really need air conditioning...We are 2 adults and 2 children, 1 month and 2 years old... The older one, is starting with some breathing problems due humidity, and we guess the baby will have as well.Anyway we cannot find dehumidifiers in Bali, we already checked in Mitra10, Ace, Carrefour... But nothing.Any recomendations?Thanks.

An air-conditioner dehumidifies as well as cools. It also has a filter - important to get rid of dust, pollen and fungal spores which may be contributing to breathing difficulties.Like you, I don't really need cooling. If it is particularly humid, I just run my bedroom unit at night with the thermostat set to just below ambient temperature - works like a charm.An inverter is much more efficient than a straight compressor unit too - only uses as much power as it needs for the job instead of constantly cycling on and off. Much quieter and far more economical to run.

I had the same search as u, no dehulidifier found also. I had my friend move out of his place to another house because of the humidity and the danger for his health. Most aircons have a selection you can choose cooling/ventilation/dehumidifier, buy one of that kind and as written by borborigmus, take the little more expensive inverter as you will save a lot on electric.
